Doubts about the plan to replace copper with aluminum in air conditioning refrigeration equipment
Starting from October 2025, electrolytic copper will experience a crazy price increase, reaching around 40% higher than at the beginning of 2025. In such an environment, some mid to low end air conditioners and refrigeration equipment are under pressure in terms of cost and facing losses, as there is no possibility of price increases or adjustments under market pressure. Currently, about 80% of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment components use copper tubes and aluminum fins for evaporators and condensers. If aluminum tubes and aluminum fins are replaced with heat exchangers, it will significantly reduce the amount of copper tubes in the equipment and significantly lower material costs. Our company’s aluminum tube heat exchanger uses internally threaded aluminum alloy tubes from Swedish company Hydro, which have excellent corrosion resistance and a heat transfer rate almost similar to copper tubes. If individual customers’ machines are used in harsh environments, we can completely solve their concerns about corrosion through treatment processes such as electrophoresis, anodizing, and nano coating. Our company’s aluminum tube heat exchanger is widely used in many top tier construction machinery brands in China, with stable performance and reliability.
